Microsoft Security Patch Advance Notification - October 2007
With the second Tuesday in October rapidly approaching, Microsoft have provided 'Advance Notification' of the patches that they are expecting to release as part of the monthly security patch release cycle.
This month there will be seven patches for Windows and Office users:
- Five patches directed at Windows, with a maximum rating of Critical
- One patch for Office, rated as Critical, and
- One patch for Office and Windows, rated as Important.
As with previous monthly patch releases, there will be an update to the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool
Other non-security patches due for release alongside the security updates are three high-priority, non-security updates via Microsoft Update, and one via Windows Update.
While the information above is accurate at the time of writing, it is not unknown for Microsoft to change the number or nature of the patches that they will release next week.
