Microsoft Security Patch Release May 2009 Advance Notification
Microsoft's Advance Notification for May 2009 has been released.
Only a single Critical patch is scheduled for release next Tuesday, for PowerPoint. Versions of PowerPoint affected are those from Office 2000 (Critical), Office XP (Important), Office 2003 (Important), and the 2007 Office System (Important).
PowerPoint Viewer 2003 and 2007 (Important) and the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack (Important) are also affected.
It isn't certain at this stage whether the Update will address the 0-day vulnerability that surfaced in targeted attacks last month, but it is hoped that, being the only patch for this month, it will be the case.
