Microsoft Security Patch Release May 2010 Advance Notification
Following on from April's major security patch release, this month's security bulletin release by Microsoft should see two bulletins released, both of them Critical.
Windows and Office vulnerabilities are being addressed by the updates. Microsoft's Security Response Center notes that a patch is not yet ready for known SharePoint issues, but it is being worked on.
Despite both patches being rated Critical, Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 systems appear to be less vulnerable to the Windows vulnerability, with the patch only rated as Important for those systems.
The Office patch also appears to be differential in its application to systems, with Office versions XP, 2003, and 2007 being listed as Important. The Critical rating appears to be for Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
